I have a shiney new mood theme by ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) kaaatie , and some shiny new icons from the same site to go with it, also a shiney new layout - well okay, I just changed the colour, but that's a pretty big step for someone afraid of change! :D
I'm so impressed that I managed to figure out how to upload the mood theme. Not as scary and complicated as I had thought. Now I just have to figure out how to create a header and tweak the colours. Any tips?

As much as I adore James Spader as Daniel in the movie, Michael Shanks makes a pretty damn good Daniel too. And one thing I have to say in favour of him; he definitely aged better.

Yesterday I started my holiday with making screencaps of the original Stargate movie. I'm trying to tell the story as compact as possible but including the details that return in the series.
So far I've noticed a couple of things:
1. Whoa, there are a lot of details that come back in the series!
2. I'm still finding movie Daniel sexy as hell but it doesn't quite come across in screencaps. That's something he has in common with series Daniel. I'm guessing with Daniel it's in the subtle movements.
3. There's no chemistry between movie Daniel and movie Jack. The potential for it is all there; the conflicting way they look at things, the way they learn to appreciate each other. It's in the writing, it's in the acting, it's just not in the combination of Kurt and James.
4. I'm finding it very hard to restrict my caps the moment Kasuf is in the picture; I love that man so damn much, and every cap I make of him is so expressive!
5. Movie Sha'uri convinces me completely, every time. I believe in the immediate bond between her and Daniel. I believe in the way she convinces the guys to stand up against their oppressors.
6. I'm 3/4 into the movie and I've already got 73 caps; you'll be happy to know I plan on using lj-cut. (I'm not even sure it'll all fit in one entry...)

Which episode is it again that has the scene of Jack carrying Daniel through the gate and tenderly laying him down on the other side? And is that the same episode as the one that has Jack freaking out in the infirmary and slapping a map or something on the contents of a medical trolley?
Playing a couple of my favorite fanvids* inspired me into re-watching some of the episodes that are featured in them. Most of them I found, but these two scenes I can't quite place...
* I'm more then willing to give a list if anyone is curious/interested, it's just that I think anyone who is interested will probably already know them all; when it comes to fanvids I don't have a particularly unique taste!
[edit] Found! By onecheekyhobbit. So obviously I'm going to re-watch SG-1 4x18 'The light' tonight :D

Copyright question-
When the design company has gone out of business and the chart is out of print is it then okay to re-use a chart, or photocopy it?
I have googled my little heart out, I've checked e-bay (again and again), I've emailed and I've called those who have had it listed for sale on their sites, but I cannot find a copy of Elemental Cosmos from Witches Stitches. I have had this piece on my wishlist for so very long and I think my search is a futile one.
Anyone?

Thanks to a timely warning from Big Mama and myself, the neighbors took a bulldozer to the enormous dead tree that was stalking their house and knocked it flat. The Sanfords (of Sanford and Son...you should see their yard) really hadn't realized the tree was leering down their chimney so we did a good deed there. The branches were lopped off and they, and the stump with all its exposed roots, are still spread all over the yard. I doubt all that mess is going to be picked up soon. However, it's good, dry wood and I'm tempted to sneak over in the dead of night and steal it for next winter.
I'm not quite dying for winter yet (I'm enjoying the flowers I planted too much) but the heat and the skeeters are driving me nutso.
